At The Start
Mark has lived and worked in Oxfordshire all his life. His interest with nature and the countryside started in his youth as his first position was as a Gamekeeper at a large working estate within the County. It was during this time that he began to research the flora and fauna around him.
A Countryman’s Tale
Mark is very interested in country folklore and enjoys listening and sharing stories from others who have spent their lives living and working in the countryside. Keeping the knowledge alive is very important to him and, as an avid sportsman, he combines this country knowledge with Bushcraft and spiritual awareness.
Expeditions and Experience
Mark has spent time in the jungles of Borneo; learning bushcraft skills from the Iban tribesmen and experienced the Namibian Kalahari Desert with the San Bushmen. With his relaxed nature, enthusiasm to teach and genuine interest in the subject Mark is a natural instructor. He is currently involved within the scouting organisation and regularly teaches bushcraft to cubs, scouts, explorers and their leaders across many different groups. Mark has also taught for Banardos and the Round Table.
